Last year the ball started rolling for a collaboration with awesome Sydney wine label, Cakes Wines. The label are getting themselves all over the creative scene in Sydney and are famously known for having artists create work for the labels of their bottles. The first two bottles of the series were the Cabernet Merlot and Sauvignon Blanc which Kill Pixie and Beci Orpin created pieces for. The newest additions to the series are the Pinot's.
Along with Kevin Tran, I collaborated with Cake on this new series and came up with a sweet little design for the Pinot Grigio. Kevin's amazing work graces the Pinot Noir.
Tomorrow night see's a little pre-launch party where Cake will introduce Kevin and I to their buyers and a bunch of media types and they'll also be showing our content videos, which are nice little pieces, created by the talented Damon Cameron, that act as an introduction to our practices and identities as artists.
Then on Friday night next week, the 30th March, China Heights Gallery will be hosting the Cake Wines Launch Exhibition - an exhibition featuring work by the four artists who have collaborated with Cake (Kill Pixie, Beci Orpin, Kevin Tran and myself.) A catalogue is being made for the exhibition as i type and all works will be for sale. The opening is from 6-9pm and the show will be up until Sunday 1st April.
I am super grateful and excited to be a part of this. The journey has been unforgettable!
